Texting Your Members
Have you ever had a time where you needed to get a message out to your members quickly due to a time crunch or other situation where an email (or PMAIL as it’s called within DACdb) just was not the right communications tool? DACdb has you covered with a product called PTEXT. You may have seen this in your menu of options under the ‘My Club’ tab.
For a very long time, DACdb has been able to provide this as a free service to your club utilizing technology tools that are now becoming unavailable by some of the cellular providers. This is proving to be an unreliable solution to you in making sure that your important messages reach the intended audience. For that reason, we are having to change out the outdated technology used and move to something that is more current.
ACTION NEEDED: To use this service, your club will need to activate the PTEXT subscription extension by clicking on the “Subscribe” button within the PTEXT function of DACdb.
This new technology will improve the reliability and efficiency of sending PTEXT messages to your intended recipients. It also brings new functionality and capabilities to your club as well. See some of the benefits listed below:
- No more tracking of the mobile carrier for your members. This new technology will auto-identify the carrier.
- The ability to send an SMS to your intended audience immediately
- The ability to advance schedule the sending of the SMS
- View and download reports of your SMS (under development and should be available in January 2021);
- Free trial service from now through 31 January 2021
- When time is of the essence, use PTEXT to get information out to your members for items such as:
- Last minute announcements (meeting location changes or cancellations; inclement weather announcements; etc)
- Essential reminders (online meeting links, etc)
The newer technology does have a variable fee associated. The optional PTEXT extension service is a very reasonable and inexpensive option for your club to utilize at only 2 cents per text per member per text.
We will be announcing the subscription payment details prior to 31 January 2021. In the meantime, please enjoy using this upgraded PTEXT service from DACdb. You can cancel your subscription at any time.
